Amruta Mahuli is a Research Associate for Fairwork and at IIIT Bangalore.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Law (LLB) and has recently completed her Master’s degree in Public Policy and Governance. She has work experience as a data analyst, legal professional specializing in contract drafting and negotiation, and as a research intern for several tech policy-based think tanks.
Her research interests are ground in the intersection of law, informational privacy, and welfare of the marginalized. Before joining the Fairwork team, she contributed to a project that studied the entry of digital platforms in the domestic and care service industry in India where she contributed to a submission to the Ministry of Labour and Employment on the Code of Social Security Bill, 2019 on behalf of Centre for Internet and Society.

Amruta contributes to multiple aspects of the Fairwork project including operationalizing Fairwork principles for the Indian context, legal analysis, desk research, and interviews with workers and platform companies.
