Have questions about the Fairwork AI Supply Chain Certification? You’re in the right place.
It’s a structured audit and certification process that helps companies identify, address, and improve labour conditions across their AI and data work supply chains. It’s grounded in the Fairwork Principles and offers both an audit-only option and a full certification pathway.
Any company that relies on data-driven operations, annotation services, BPO providers, or outsourced AI labor. This includes AI developers, digital platforms, enterprises using third-party data services, and even public institutions.
It varies depending on your supply chain’s complexity, but a typical timeline ranges from 6 to 12 months for all four phases, with follow-up audits occurring 12–24 months later.
The audit-only model includes Discovery & Risk Assessment and Action Planning. Certification continues through Implementation, Training, and Monitoring—and includes public recognition through Fairwork badges.
You receive a detailed report, and if certified, a badge (Onboard or Endorsed) to use in your public materials. We remain available for continued collaboration and follow-up evaluations.
Costs vary based on the number of suppliers, geographic spread, and depth of engagement. Please contact us directly for a tailored quote.
We assess your full AI supply chain, with a focus on how your sourcing practices impact suppliers and workers. The certification is awarded to the lead company but reflects your supply chain engagement as a whole.
No, audit reports are confidential unless you choose to publish them. If you’re certified, we’ll provide guidance on using your badge, but the underlying data remains private unless otherwise agreed.
We take data protection seriously. All supplier interviews and findings are anonymized unless explicit consent is given. We can also work with you to protect commercially sensitive information.
