Nancy Salem is a Volunteer Research Assistant at the Fairwork Project. She is also an MSc Student at Oxford Internet Institute.
Nancy’s research interests include the digital humanities, and internet and information geography. Prior to studying at the Oxford Internet Institute, she worked in the field of digital development in the Middle East and North Africa. She holds a BA in History from the American University in Cairo and a MSc in Development Studies from SOAS. She recently co-authored the publications Narratives around Women, Work, and Technology and A Gendered Analysis of Ridesharing: Perspectives from Cairo, Egypt.
For the Fairwork project, Nancy is researching platform economy responses to COVID-19.
