Noopur Raval is a PhD candidate at University of California Irvine in the Informatics Department. Her ongoing dissertation work looks at how ride-hailing services like Ola and Uber have shaped travel and access to work in Bengaluru, India. Raval was an affiliate with the Harvard Berkman-Klein center in 2016 and a Technology Law and Society fellow at UCI in 2017-18. During her PhD she has also undertaken various user experience research projects with Xerox Research and Microsoft Research. Her broad research interests lie at the intersection of technology, labor, class and gender. For the Fairwork project, Noopur is performing policy analysis and helping to refine the fairwork methods and thresholds.
