Six Silberman

Six Silberman works in the Crowdsourcing Project at IG Metall, the trade union in the German manufacturing industry. Silberman has been involved in efforts to improve working conditions in labour platforms since 2008, when he and Lilly Irani built Turkopticon, the first independent client reputation system for a crowdwork market. He moved to Germany in 2015, where he has been involved in the operation of the website Faircrowdwork.org, the Crowdsourcing Code of Conduct and its Ombuds Office, the FairTube campaign for fairness and transparency for YouTube creators, and policy development around working conditions on labour platforms. He holds a PhD in Information and Computer Sciences from the University of California at Irvine in the United States.
