This policy brief was produced by Dr Callum Cant, Dr Funda Ustek-Spilda, Dr Matthew Cole, and Prof Mark Graham, all of the Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford, and Dr James Muldoon of the University of Exeter.
The brief is based on the ‘AI for Fair Work’ project, supported by the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI), which builds on the 2019 OECD ‘Recommendations on Artificial Intelligence’ to develop specific and measurable benchmarks for the fair deployment of AI systems in the workplace.
As such, the following evidence focuses primarily on governance from the perspective of the workplace: the location where huge numbers of people will have deep and sustained interactions with AI systems for the first time.
