The Fairwork Scoring System entails that each Fairwork Principle is divided into two thresholds. Accordingly, for each Principle, the scoring system allows a first point to be awarded corresponding to the first threshold, and an additional second point to be awarded corresponding to the second threshold. The second point under each Principle can only be awarded if the first point for that Principle has been awarded.

The above scores should be read in conjunction with these explanatory notes.

Platforms are awarded a point where there is verifiable evidence to demonstrate that the platform has achieved the relevant threshold. A blank score therefore means that there was no verifiable evidence to award a point.

A platform can therefore receive a maximum Fairwork Score of ten points.

Fairwork scores are updated on a yearly basis.

Workers report risks of Robbery and theft, safety and security. The platform provides them with Helmets, Safety jackets and raincoats, and safety training. Live location tracking of workers by platform. Chaldal ensures that all delivery workers have a valid driver’s license.

Chaldal has a data security policy- it stores contact details, real-time location, and delivery completion data of its workers.


Workers are given a contract when they join the platform. Workers read through terms and conditions before joining the platform, and can readily access terms in conditions in Bangla. The terms and conditions of the contract are not publicly accessible and therefore could not be evaluated.

Chaldal workers are employees of the platform and are not categorized as independent contractors.


There is a clear and dependable channel of communication with the platform. Most workers say Platform is readily available to workers when issues need to be addressed. Many workers have faced disciplinary issues and almost all workers faced deactivation from platform.
In the worker app, workers can request for “reconcilliation” where they have the option to be connected to an “accountant” who can help workers resolve issues that may arise during delivery.
