Noopur Raval
Noopur Raval is a Research Assistant at Fairwork. She is also a PhD candidate at the University of California Irvine in the Informatics Department. Her ongoing dissertation work looks at how ride-hailing services like Ola and Uber have shaped travel and access to work in Bengaluru, India. Her broad research interests include the Global Political Economy of Digital Labor, decolonizing digital labor, and care-work. She recently authored the paper “Making a Pro”: ‘professionalism’ after platforms in beauty-work. You can find a full list of her publications on her website.
For the Fairwork project, Noopur conducts desk-based research and literature-reviews in order to contextualize and customize Fairwork principles for the Indian context.
