Fairwork Sex Work Project
A growing proportion of the production, consumption and exchange of sexual services and products is happening through platforms, such as OnlyFans, Chaturbate or LiveJasmin.
Fairwork is undertaking new research on the working conditions on a range of different sex work platforms, including OnlyFans, LiveJasmin, Chaturbate and AdultWork.
We are conducting interviews with those who use different camming, escorting and content delivery platforms to make a living. The project aims to understand what it is like working on sex work platforms.

The project aims to answer three key questions:
- What challenges do workers on sex work platforms face?
- How do platforms exert power and shape the working environments of workers?
- How can we begin to rate sex work platforms based on the working environments they provide?
The goal of the project is to influence the way that sex work platforms operate, identifying key recommendations for improving working conditions and collaborating in implementing changes that benefit workers.
This research is being led by Robbie Warin and Prof. Mark Graham and conducted with Dr. Polly Blake.
