Janice Roman Tamesis
Researcher
Janice is an assistant professor in the Broadcasting, Communication, Journalism, and Multimedia Arts (BCJMMA) Department at Lyceum of the Philippines University, Manila. She also serves as the editor-in-chief of the LPU Arts and Sciences Monograph Series at the same university. Currently pursuing a PhD in Communication at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, she holds an MA in Communication from the University of Santo Tomas, where her thesis titled “Hari ng Tondo: The Convergence of Hero and Place in Fernando Poe, Jr.’s Tondo Films” earned the highest merit (Meritissimus).
Her works have been published in Simulacra, an international peer-reviewed journal, and the PCS Review of the Philippines Communication Society (PCS). Additionally, she actively contributes discussion papers and policy briefs to the University of the Philippines Center for Integrative and Development Studies (UP CIDS).
Her diverse research interests include Urban Studies, Tondo Studies, Space and Spatiality (and Materiality), Policy Research, Climate/Climate Change Communication, UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Communication and Media Studies.
