Jorge Leyton is a Researcher for the Fairwork Project in Chile. Jorge assists the Chile team with reviewing platform terms and conditions.
With an LLB from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and an LLM from University College London, Jorge has developed his professional and academic career in the field of labour law, combining his work as a lawyer with different tasks in the Department of Labour and Social Security Law of his School, first as a teaching assistant and then as a part-time lecturer in undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Since September 2019, he is pursuing a PhD in Law at the University of Bristol, in which he intends to carry out a comparative analysis of the application of freedom of association rights in Chile and the United Kingdom to workers who provide services under precarious conditions in the so-called “platform economy”.
