Raiyaan Mahbub is a researcher and research manager with Fairwork Bangladesh. Raiyaan works on the blog and communication, literature review, organizing webinars, data collection and report writing.
As a research associate at DataSense, Raiyaan is primarily working on research on migrant labour policy and the gig economy. He was an author of Fairwork’s inaugural report on Bangladesh’s gig economy and had served as the Editor of the Melbourne International Relations Review in the past. Raiyaan is a recent graduate from The University of Melbourne, holding a BA in economics and politics. He returned to Bangladesh to integrate the lived experience of working in his native land into his conceptual framework. He intends to resume his academic endeavors, with hopes of doing future research in the intersections of postcolonial studies, economic anthropology, and development.
