The platform economy in Serbia is a flourishing phenomenon that offers altered consumption opportunities and alternative work arrangements strongly embraced in the context of high entry barriers into the labour market.
The second Fairwork Serbia report presents ratings of the most prominent digital platforms in Serbia – Glovo, Wolt, CarGo, MrD, and Uradi-zaradi – against five principles of fair work.
The platforms’ low scores reveal that there is much to be done to ensure fairness in the Serbian platform economy. There is a need to create a fair legal environment for platform workers that will enable fair work conditions, regulate fair representation and contribute to increased workers’ protection and safety.
